A Superior Fiscal Record and the Lowest Town Tax in Albany County:

Ken Runion has implemented sound fiscal management and cost conscious budget practices.  The Town Tax is 26 cents per thousand dollars of assessed valuation.  The lowest in Albany County.  Compare this to Bethlehem ($.44 per thousand) and Colonie ($2.78 per thousand plus a special one year tax).

The Town has secured over $3 Million in state and federal grants under Ken’s leadership to fund capital projects.

This year when the economy went into a serious recession, Ken reacted to insure that taxes remain stable despite decreasing sales tax revenue.  He re-negotiated employee contracts and cut expenses to save over $350,000 in the 2009 budget.

Here is what others have said:

Times Union - October 2007

Guilderland holds the line on taxes... for the 8th consecutive year, the town’s proposed budget does not contain a tax hike.”
